Is something wrong with me because I want or need counseling?Not at all! Seeking counseling doesn’t mean something is "wrong" with you. Life comes with challenges, and having someone to talk to can be incredibly helpful for processing and navigating those moments. People come to counseling for many reasons, and none of them make a person "crazy." In fact, reaching out for support shows strength and a willingness to confront challenges head-on, rather than avoiding or developing unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Is what we discuss private?Yes, almost everything you share in counseling is confidential. However, there are exceptions where the law requires disclosure. These include situations involving plans to harm yourself or someone else, or instances of abuse or neglect involving children or the elderly. As a mandated reporter, I am required to report these cases. Outside of these exceptions, counseling sessions remain private unless you provide written consent through a release of information form. Rest assured, situations requiring reporting are rare, and confidentiality is a cornerstone of the counseling relationship.

Will my insurance cover counseling?Counseling services offered by Platinum Quest Counseling Services, LLC may be covered by your insurance. To confirm your coverage, please contact us to discuss fees, copays, and coinsurance requirements. Payments, whether private pay or insurance-based, are due at the time of service. Are Telehealth services available?Yes, we offer Telehealth services through a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure your privacy and convenience.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?Clients can reschedule an appointment up to 24 hours before the scheduled time. If you need to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, please call us at (217) 418-7245. How to Reschedule? Log into your account on the website where you booked the appointment. Navigate to "My Bookings" or "Appointments" section. Select the appointment you want to reschedule. Click "Reschedule" and choose a new available date and time. Confirm the changes.
